HMPS English Letters Gathering Night
On February 14, 2026, the English Letters Student Association (HMPS) held a Makrab (Gathering Night / Bonding Night) filled with warmth, togetherness, and laughter. This activity became an important moment for all committee members to get to know each other more closely outside the formal organizational atmosphere. Makrab, short for Malam Keakraban (Gathering Night), is an activity commonly held by student organizations to build closeness among members. Through a relaxed setting, members can interact without the boundaries of positions or divisions. Its main purpose is to strengthen relationships, improve communication, and build mutual trust so that teamwork within the organization becomes more solid.
The event began with a session where each division presented the progress of their work programs to the supervisor. This session was not merely formal; it also became a space for discussion, evaluation, and motivation so that HMPS programs could run more effectively. After the formal session, participants continued with bonding activities within their divisions. During this time, members had casual discussions, shared stories, and strengthened internal cooperation. Many new things emerged—ranging from creative ideas and organizational hopes to personal stories that brought members closer together.

The night grew warmer with a barbecue and shared dinner. The aroma of grilled food blended with light conversations, creating a family-like atmosphere. There were no boundaries between leaders, members, or supervisors—everyone sat together, joked, and enjoyed the meal.

The fun continued in the next day with various group games. Laughter filled almost every session due to teamwork and participants’ amusing moments. These games were not only entertaining but also trained cooperation, communication, and team cohesion. Before the event ended, participants exchanged letters. The letters contained many things: gratitude, apologies, support, and words of encouragement. Many felt touched while reading them, making this one of the most memorable moments of the gathering.

This Makrab aimed to bring members closer together as an organizational family. Through relaxed interactions, games, and open communication, each member could understand one another more deeply. This closeness is expected to positively impact cooperation, coordination, and comfort in carrying out the organization’s responsibilities. The Makrab held on February 14, 2026, became a valuable experience for all English Literature HMPS members. It was not just a gathering, but a moment to build a sense of belonging within the organization. With stronger relationships, it is hoped that the HMPS English Literature can carry out its programs more cohesively, harmoniously, and enthusiastically. (Azzra)
