ACADEMIC VISION
To be a leading, world-class study program in advancing the study of the English language, literature, and culture through a critical, creative, and humanist approach to respond to contemporary challenges and contribute to the realization of a more just, sustainable, and dignified society.
ACADEMIC MISSION
To realize this vision, the English Letters Department is committed to the following missions:
1. To provide an adaptive and transformative education based on Ignatian Pedagogy to produce graduates who are competent in the fields of English language, literature, and culture, and who possess the conscience and compassion to address the challenges of our time.
2. To advance innovative and interdisciplinary research in the fields of English language, literature, and culture, focusing on issues of justice, ecological sustainability, and digital transformation, and to disseminate the findings at national and international levels.
3. To engage in collaborative community service by applying the knowledge of the English language, literature, and culture to empower communities and offer creative solutions to socio-cultural challenges.
4. To establish strong collaborative networks with local and global partners, including creative industries and educational institutions, to enrich the tridharma (three pillars of higher education) experience and enhance graduate relevance.
