AVIS Teller of Tales Presenting “Death Whisperer” as Annual Storytelling Project
Yogyakarta, 6 September 2026 — Artistic Voices in Sasing (AVIS), a creative student organization in English Letters Department of Universitas Sanata Dharma successfully held its annual Storytelling Screening on Sunday, 6 September 2026, showcasing its latest digital storytelling project titled “Death Whisperer”.
The screening marked another step in AVIS’s creative journey from its earlier puppet show performances into a digital animation storytelling format adapting to the evolving digital world in this century. Throughout the years, AVIS continues to explore ways of creating unique stories through writing, drawing, voice performance, and necessary digital skills
The production of “Death Whisperer” involved collaboration among various AVIS members, including writers, illustrators, voice actors, and editors. Hellena, AVIS current leader says, “We spent 10 months preparing this project, overcoming many challenges while developing the story and production process.”
“Death Whisperer” follows the journey of Lumiere, the main character who explores the realm of death and experiences the mysteries within it. Through this story, AVIS presents a creative interpretation of a different world and moral understanding while highlighting the importance of storytelling as a form of artistic expression.
Besides the screening, the event also introduced AVIS members and provided an interactive discussion session between the creators and the audience. As part of the event experience, attendees received special merchandise and notebooks prepared by the organization.
AVIS Teller of Tales hopes that future screenings will reach a wider audience and allow more people to experience wonderful stories created by its members. With continuous growth and creativity, AVIS aims to further develop its digital literature projects in the coming years. back
