From Competition to Webinars: Student Activities Colors English Letters Department
On the first weekend of May, the English Letters students and lecturers come to the Faculty of Letters campus building for several events. The events showed the active and dynamic activities of the department's Civitas Academica. There were four events happening on the weekend: ELEVEN (English Letters Events and Competitions), English Debating Society (EDS) participation in the National University Debating Championship (NUDC), Webinar on UX Writing, and Play Performance Rehearsals. Not only active students participated in those events, but also the lecturers and alumna of the department. The events may indicate that the department is home to all of its members.

ELEVEN, English Letters Events and Competitions, is the title for a generic class meeting activity where students gather and compete in some games. As expected, students really came and participated in this two-day event, May 3-4, 2024. Around 250 students came to ELEVEN, either as the players competing in the games or as supporters. There were several games at this event: sarong volleyball, basketball, futsal, poetry writing, lyric writing, and online Mobile Legend games. The games were held in several courts and places in Universitas Sanata Dharma. The winners were announced on the awarding night at the end of the second day. It was in the Faculty building's ground hall. It was so lively. Some lecturers also performed on the awarding night by reading poems and singing songs. To close the event, the English Letters Music Organization (ELMO) performed some songs.
