ELMO showcased their skills at Dua Arah Coffee Shop
On the evening of Friday, April 5, 2024, Dua Arah Coffee shop was infused with the melodies of talented students from the ELMO, English Letters Music Organization. The performance, organized by ELMO, featured four performing groups/bands, each delivering various musical genres and styles. Their performances were spectacled by a diverse audience, showcasing the widespread appeal of ELMO members’ musical talents. The event, aptly named Frijam—an abbreviation of Friday and Jamming—served as a platform to promote ELMO and enhance the students’ skills and confidence. Frijam is an exclusive event open only to members of ELMO, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their talents in a supportive and encouraging environment. This show is second Frijam in April, solidifying its status as a beloved tradition within ELMO.
The first performer was the energetic group known as VODKA, comprising Abid and Vira on vocals, accompanied by Anjas on guitar, Dito on bass, and Klodi on keyboard. Their spirited performance set the stage on fire, captivating the audience with their energy and soulful renditions. Following was the Viers, consisting of Rere and Ninda on vocals, supported by Althof on drums, Angie on keyboard, and Sarah on guitar. Their melodies captivated the audience, as they effortlessly transitioned from one song to the next smoothly.
Next up was the soulful sounds of D’One, featuring the dynamic vocal duo Catherine and Agnes, backed by the melodic strumming of Kenzie on guitar and the rhythmic beats of Cia on drums. Their heartfelt performances evoked a range of emotions and impression. Closing out the evening was the electrifying quartet Back Benchers, comprising Gisel and Kanya on vocals, accompanied by the masterful guitar skills of Sophie and the rhythmic percussion of Jacklyn on cajon. They delivered a closing that had the crowd on their feet and cheering for more.
Leading up to the event, students diligently prepared for the show over for one month, practicing their musical skills and perfecting their performances. This dedication and hard work were evident in the seamless execution and captivating performances witnessed throughout the evening. The atmosphere at Dua Arah Coffee Shop was filled with laughter, applause, and the unmistakable sense of friendship shared among performers and audience members alike. As the last notes faded into the night, it was clear that ELMO had not only showcased their musical talents but had also created unforgettable memories that would be cherished for years to come.
