A Night of Music and Talent: ELITE 2025’s ‘Cosmic Carousel’

This year’s ELITE Night Festival and Competition filled Sanata Dharma’s Kampus III with vibrant carnival festivities. With the theme Cosmic Carousel, the event was held on Saturday, 8 November 2025. The event promotes the English Letters program to the public, providing a platform for high school students to express their talents and creativity through various competitions, and serving as the grand celebration that brings joy through a series of performances.
ELITE is held annually by the English Letters Student Association (HMPSSING) under the division of Talent and Interest (MIBA). Throughout the years, ELITE has invited many guest stars. This year, ELITE is honored to welcome three shining guest stars: Liburan Dirumah (LDR), Korekayu, and Auretté and The Polska Seeking Carnival (AATPSC).

The event is opened with performances from Solo Singing Cover Competition participants. One by one, they stepped onto the stage, singing melodious and dramatic songs. After that, the next series of performances were from Solo K-pop Dance Cover and Group K-pop Dance Cover competitions. Each individual and group delivered stunning choreographies to the beat of trendy Korean Pop songs. There were also performances by the English Letter Department Lecturers and the English Letter’s Music Organization (ELMO) and LITRO.

While enjoying the performances, visitors also explored the Interactive Zone. The first game, Darts x Sastra, challenged visitors to throw darts and pop balloons to answer literary questions for a prize. Another popular game was Ring Toss, where players tried to land rings around bottles—those who managed to land three rings earned snack prizes. The Bottle Cap Challenge was equally exciting, allowing players to flick bottle caps and complete a challenge based on where the cap landed. Last but not least, visitors admired the works from the Digital Painting Competition, displayed in a booth draped in black fabric, giving it the ambiance of an art gallery.

After a short break, it's time to announce the winners of the competitions. The winner of each category is called to the stage to receive their awards, presented by the Chairperson of ELITE 2025, Andreas Bobola Arya Adi, and the Vice Head of English Letters Department, Epata Puji Astuti, S.S., M.A., and the Steering Committee of ELITE 2025, Richardus Bagus Purwasista.

After the Awarding Night, the event finally reached its peak: the Night Festival. Performing under the dazzling lights and swirling smoke, Liburan Dirumah opened the festival with their spectacular songs. After Liburan Dirumah delivered their last song, Korekayu took the stage with songs and hilarious stage banters. Finally, as the night grew colder, Auretté and The Polska Seeking Carnival closed the event with their melodic, nostalgic songs, ending ELITE 2025 with the perfect atmosphere. (AP)
