Debate Achievement of Sanata Dharma University at the UKMB National Competition 4.0

Yogyakarta, 16/11/2025, Sanata Dharma University recorded a proud achievement at the UKMB National Competition 4.0, an online academic event organized by Sriwijaya University. Sanata Dharma’s representatives delivered an outstanding performance, securing both first place and second place in the British Parliamentary debate category.
Eight teams joined the debate category, including Sanata Dharma University which was represented by two teams from the English Debating Society (EDS) under the English Letters Department, with the teams name being, Sadhar and Sadhar 2. The Sadhar team consisted of Gabriel Ephifanio Suwanto and Leticia Leticia Amora Loviani, while Sadhar 2 consisted of Satrio Prabanto and Seanpaul Lapudooh. After two preliminary rounds, both Sadhar and Sadhar 2 advanced to the final stage with two other teams.


Moving into the final results and as the rankings were released, Sadhar 2 achieved first place while Sadhar achieved second place. Sadhar 2 consisted of Satrio Prabanto and Seanpaul Lapudooh, who delivered a strong and coordinated performance that placed them at the top of the competition. Their result is notable because one of the members, Satrio Prabanto, entered the event as a beginner and returned to competitive debate after an eight month break. His development was supported by senior member Seanpaul Lapudooh, who accompanied him throughout the event and guided him during the preparation process. The Sadhar team, represented by Gabriel Ephifanio Suwanto and Leticia Leticia Amora Loviani, secured second place which contributed to the department’s overall success through consistent performance in both the preliminary and final rounds.

This double victory becomes a moment of celebration for the English Debating Society (EDS) under the English Letters Department, reflecting the department’s dedication to academic excellence, critical thinking, and communication skills. The competition, which ran a full day from 9.00 to 18.00 and demanded sharp focus and steady discipline, further highlighted the team’s achievement, strengthening Sanata Dharma University’s presence in competitive debate activities and inspiring future participation, while the department expressed appreciation for the dedication of the students who represented the institution with outstanding results.
