Orientation Meeting with Parents of New Students 2025/2026

In higher education, parental involvement is crucial for fostering students' academic growth. Universitas Sanata Dharma's English Letters Department acknowledges the significance of this by hosting a meeting for parents of incoming students in 2025–2026. The occasion took place at Ruang Koendjono, Kampus 2 Universitas Sanata Dharma, on Saturday, October 18, 2025. HMPSSING USD members, English Letters instructors, and parent representatives from each new student attended the event. A hybrid format was used, with some participants taking part virtually and others attending in person.
After a registration period, English Letters lecturers gave a presentation. Additionally, one of the English Letters students was there to talk about her time in the department. Included in the presentation were the terms and conditions for English Letters students, the campus's facilities, and other crucial details regarding the academic program and college life. The goal of this activity is to help parents better understand the learning environment in which their children are learning.


A question-and-answer period at the end of the event allowed parents to speak with the lecturers directly. In order to support new students' learning, this activity sought to improve collaboration and communication between the university and parents. In order for parents to actively support their children's academic journey, the university also used this meeting to more thoroughly introduce the English Letters academic environment.
