My First International Academic Forum: The 3rd COLALITE
The seminar invited three keynote speakers. They were, Achmad Munjid, Ph.D (Universitas Gadjah Mada), Katinka van Heeren, Ph.D (The Netherland) and Dr. Chusni Hadiati (Universitas Jenderal Soedirman).
Beside the plenary forum, the seminar also held parallel sessions. Intan Realista Zanta Avisha, accompanied by Harris Hermansyah Setiajid, presented her paper entitled "A Critical Discourse Analysis of Humor and Sarcasm on Protest Sign Against Donald Trump” in the second parallel session.
Meanwhile, I with Simon Arsa Manggala presented our paper in the third parallel session. Our paper entitled "The Horror in Two Langenhein's Folktales: The Pirates of Gili Motong and the Dragon Princess of Komodo" explores the horror element in the two folk tales.

Here was what I experienced 24 hours earlier: I was so nervous that during practice I could not do it well. The words I prepared were floating and I could not say anything. I tried to write down the things I would say in order to help me during the presentation. But when the day of the presentation arrived, I was very nervous because this was my first presentation and I had to talk to lots of people I did not know. I had stage fright. But thanks to the support from Intan Realista, and my two lecturers, I could finish the presentation well. It was an experience that made me both nervous and excited.
For Intan Realista and me, this experience brings a brand new thing. This is the first time for us to present their papers in an international academic forum. We both felt nervous but eventually managed to overcome it and could present our papers well. This academic encounter is really an eye-opener for me that knowledge knows no bound.
