HMPS-AIYA: Australian Award Scholarship Information Session
Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta on March 15, 2016. Australian Indonesian Youth Association or well-known as AIYA together with HMPSSING (Himpunan Mahasiswa Sastra Inggris) from Sanata Dharma University held a seminar regarding Australia Award Scholarship or known as AAS. The seminar was held at Koendjono room and attended by 111 participants. 71 out of 111 participants were from Sanata Dharma University and the rest were from Gadjah Mada University, Ahmad Dahlan University, and many more. There were four speakers at AAS, they were Rory John Brown, the AIYA’s president, Sudi Mungkasi Ph.D, Mr. Thomas JP Sembodo, Mrs. Imma who were the alumni of AAS.
The seminar started at 7.30 PM and opened with the welcoming speech of Mr. Brown as the president of AIYA. It continued to explanation from the AAS’ alumni. They shared about their experiences in applying the scholarship and about their life during taking it. The seminar went to live streaming through YouTube to give more information about AAS.. There were a lot of participants who asked anything about AAS. The seminar ran smoothly with a huge enthusiasm from all the participants. It ended at 9 PM.
Some of the participants felt grateful after attending the seminar. They gained much information they needed for continuing their study. They hoped for another seminar held by AIYA. Also, the corporation between HMPSSING and AIYA was expected to continue in the near future. (Novita Sari)
