Elcomfest 2016: Nite Festival and Food Market

Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta on March 12-13th 2016. The English Letters Department held an annual event, Elcomfest 2016 (English Letters Competitions and Festival) with “Dare to Bring on Your Future” as the theme. Elcomfest 2016 focused on academic and non-academic competitions for junior high school, senior high school, and public.

The competitions were supposed to be held on March 12 and 13, yet due to many inquiries about postponing the competition dates, the competitions then will be held on 16 and 17 of April, 2016. Many schools explained that they had to focus on preparing the students for facing national exam.

In Elcomfest 2016, there was a new agenda which is TOELF-like test. TOEFL-like test was a corporation between Elcomfest and Language Institute of Sanata Dharma University. TOEFL-like test was held on March 6th, 2016 at LPPM (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) Sanata Dharma University. The event was started at 9 AM and ended at 11 AM with 74 participants. The participants had to pay Rp 35.000,- for the registration fee. The participant got their result five days after the test day.

Elcomfest 2016’s festival has a different concept with the previous one. It was toned up by 9 food trucks and 13 food and drinks tenants and it was held for two days. The parking lot was filled with people looking for tasty food. It was held on March 12 and started at 9 AM unti 4 PM. There was also acoustic performances from Akustik Sasing, pompom boys, skate jam, and beat box performance. On the next day, people who wanted to come to Elcomfest 2016 had to pay Rp 5.000,-. Elcomfest 2016’s festival was started at 4 PM until 9 PM with the performances of Seahoarse, Holiday Anna, Om Maraka, Akustik Sasing, Orkes Ganteng, Niskala, T-Project and DJ performance.
