Dita Journal: From Korea with Love

9 August 2013: This was the last day for us being in Seoul. It was such a sleepy day because we stayed awake all night long preparing our group presentation for today. Only 3 hours sleep, that’s all we had. Today was also the most challenging day because we had two materials to be presented: group presentation and final report by each participating university representative. I belonged to the third group, taking “Social Conflict” as the topic. The first group discussed “Quality of Life”, the second “Environment”, and the last group ‘Scientific Principle”. Although very challenging, I enjoyed having presentation. I learned a lot from the four presentations and got knowledge new to me.

After group presentation, each participating university representative delivered a final report, which was a reflection of what we had done during Global Leadership Program.

The GLP Program was closed by Jae H. Roe as the Vice President for International Affairs Sogang University. We were awarded a certificate for our completing the 6th Global Leadership Program for Jesuit Universities held from August 5-9, 2013.

Farewell Dinner

My friends and I ate Pizza and some Korean food. It was awesome because I could feel our togetherness and solidarity in the last day. We were like brothers and sisters. We laughed together and enjoyed the dinner.

Farewell dinner was over. We strolled Seoul streets and breathed the city’s night atmosphere for the last time. We went to Hongdae, Sinchon, and other places. Some shopped, some ate and drank. Tomorrow, we would come back home to our own country. I felt sad.

Night in Seoul

The night to remember

I left my heart in Seoul

From Korea with Love

We left Sogang University at 7.30 Korean time.  Our plane left Incheon for  Denpasar, Bali at 10.00 Korean time. I felt something taken from me, a five-day togetherness with friends from other countries. I would miss everything we had been through during GLP. I would miss every single moment we had.

Leaving for Indonesia

Incheon Airport

Bye, Seoul...

The plane landed safely at Ngurah Rai Airport at 17.30 Central Indonesian Time Zone. And we arrived home in Yogyakarta at 19.30 West Indonesian Time Zone.

I really enjoyed every single day in GLP 2013. This was my first time I went abroad, I got  so many experiences and new knowledge here. I could improve my leadership skill. I shared my culture friends from other countries.  I got many connections from my foreign friends.

I thank God for this opportunity and thank to all people who always support me to join this program. I’m proud to be Indonesian; I’m proud because I can share Indonesian culture in foreign countries. I will always remember these moments. (dita)

End of my odyssey...
