In NNDC, EDS Sastra Inggris sent 3 newbie teams consisted of SADHAR A (Tethy Cahyati, 2011 class and Alexander Kaparang, 2012 class), SADHAR B (Margareta Ardini, 2012 class and Christopher Tjia, 2012 class), and SADHAR B (Ivonne Kezia and Tyas Wahyukirana, 2012 class). They all have just joined EDS and started their debating career in 2012. They competed with other newbie from many institutions all over Indonesia and successfully reached quarterfinal (SADHAR B) and semifinal (SADHAR A). Moreover, Alexander Kaparang got 7^th rank of the best speaker and his teammate, Tethy Cahyati, got 3^rd rank of the best speaker in this competition.

Those achievements were, in fact, only the warming up. In NUDC Kopertis Wilayah V, 20th - 21th May 2013, EDS Sastra Inggris team (Tethy Cahyati and Irene Anindyaputri as debaters and Sekartiyasa Kusumastuti as N1 Adjudicator) successfully beat UAD and UAJY in grand final and grabbed the first runner up.

Although the winner’s throne still belonged to UGM, this position was enough to send this team to the national level of NUDC 2013 in Palembang, June 2013 along with other semifinalists UGM, UAJY, UAD, UII, UNY, STBA LIA, and ISI. 

The comeback of EDS Sastra Inggris Team in debating competitions and stole many achievements surprised many institutions. They put a title, “the emerging debaters” to EDS Sastra Inggris Team. These achievements encouraged the members of EDS Sastra Inggris Team to train harder and keep their consistency in practicing their skill in both debating and adjudicating. (@MissSekar)
