It was a surprising gift for Sastra Inggris USD in its 20th birthday. It was named the second best English Department in Indonesia, just falling behind University of Indonesia. The ranking was administered by QS World University Ranking which used indicators such as academic reputation, human resource quality, the number of academic publications cited by other researchers, H-index-based productivity, the impact of academic researches carried out by its faculty members and graduatees, and the strength of its discipline specialization.
