KBI USD welcomed students from the English Drama class of the English Letters Study Program, Universitas Sanata Dharma, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, for a collaborative academic session focusing on literary criticism and literary theory.

The session began with student presentations on David Mamet's Glengarry Glen Ross, analyzed through the lens of Marxist Criticism. The students shared their interpretations of the play and demonstrated how literary texts can be examined through critical theoretical perspectives.

Following the presentations, participants engaged in an interactive question-and-answer session. The discussion provided an opportunity for students to elaborate on their arguments, respond to questions, and exchange ideas with fellow participants.

The academic exchange continued with an insightful discussion on Postcolonialism led by Prof. Sarwoto, Ph.D. During the session, Prof. Sarwoto introduced key concepts in postcolonial studies. Students actively participated in the discussion. The visit provided a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their understanding of literary criticism while experiencing academic discussions beyond the classroom. Through presentations, scholarly dialogue, and interactive learning, the session highlighted the importance of critical thinking and collaborative knowledge-sharing in literary studies.

KBI USD was delighted to host the English Drama class and looks forward to welcoming more undergraduate students for future academic collaborations. Such activities reflect KBI USD’s commitment to fostering meaningful intellectual exchanges and creating opportunities for students to learn, discuss, and grow together.
