Welcoming New Students of 2024
Yogyakarta, August 21-22, 2024 — The Graduate Program of Sanata Dharma University welcomed its new batch of students with a comprehensive two-day orientation event, held on August 21st and 22nd, 2024. The orientation brought together students from three majors: English Language Studies, Cultural Studies, and the Doctoral Program.
The event commenced on Wednesday, August 21st, at the Palma Room within Sanata Dharma University's Magister Building. The first day focused on general introductions and essential training sessions. Students were introduced to various university resources, including the Sanata Dharma University Library website, facilities, SIA (Sistem Informasi Mahasiswa), the Learning Management System (LMS), and Mendeley Reference Manager—a critical tool for their academic research.
On Thursday, August 22nd, the orientation continued with program-specific sessions. Here, English Language Studies (ELS) program welcomed five new students. The session began at the Teratai Room with a warm welcome address from the esteemed lecturers of the ELS program, including P. Sarwoto, Ph.D., Prof. Dra. Novita Dewi, M.S., M.A. (Hons.), Ph.D., Dr. Benedictus Bherman Dwijatmoko, M.A., Dr. Emanuel Sunarto, M.Hum., and F.X. Mukarto, Ph.D. The new chairperson of ELS, Agustinus Hardi Prasetyo, Ph.D., also delivered a speech, in which he elaborated on the academic rules and regulations that will guide the students throughout their academic journey.
The orientation flowed effortlessly, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that made the students feel welcomed and excited for their academic journey at Sanata Dharma University. (MC)
