Laurentia Sumarni joined the faculty at the English Language Education Study Program, Universitas Sanata Dharma, after completing her bachelor’s degree in English Language Education at the same institution. In 2010, she earned her master’s degree in Translation Studies from the School of Language Studies, Australian National University, Canberra, through the support of the Ford Foundation’s International Fellowship Program. In 2026, she completed her Ph.D. in Foreign, Second, and Multilingual Language Education at the School of Teaching and Learning, The Ohio State University, funded by the Fulbright Doctoral Degree Scholarship. Her research interests include translanguaging in teacher education, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, and multilingual language education. She can be contacted at marnie@usd.ac.id .
