Welcome to Yogyakarta

 

We are glad to welcome you to Yogyakarta. Yogyakarta is located in the center of the island of Java and on the edge of the exotic south coast of Java Island, where you can find a variety of typical Javanese culture. The City where civilization of the Mataram Hindu’s Kingdom in to this day. Legacy of the Hindu Mataram Kingdom is  a very famous Prambanan Temple, which is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia, Thousand Year-old. In the vicinity of Yogyakarta also there are many temples - such as Ratu Boko temple or the famous Borobudur temple. Borobudur is the largest Buddhist temple in the World. Ever become 1 of 7 wonders of the World. Borobudur is about 39.4 km from the City Center of Yogyakarta.

 

People call the city of Yogyakarta as the City of Artists, City of Students, and the City of Culture. You have probably heard that Yogyakarta people are very friendly. We hope you will enjoy your stay and this is a good place to start! 

 

 

Welcome to Sanata Dharma University

You are joining to one of the best privates universities in Yogyakarta. Sanata Dharma is a Jesuit  university. Sanata Dharma means “the true dedication” or “the real service”. The dedication and the service have been devoted to the nation and the church (Pro Patria et Eclessia).

Sanata Dharma University currently has 8 undergraduate schools with 25 departments, 3 graduate programs, 1 professional program, and 3 certified programs.

Indonesian Letters Department is part of Sanata Dharma University which has been accredited A by the National Accreditation Body of Higher Learning Institutions with accreditation letter No. 020/BAN-PT/Ak-XI/S1/VIII/2008.

This program aims to facilitate students to become experts in Indonesian literature, Indonesian linguistics, and Indonesian culture. They are expected to work as professionals in various fields, such as research, publication, public relations, writers, editors, translators, interpreters, journalists, lexicographers.
