The Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Psychology

On Friday, 14 March 2025 at 17.30 until 21.45, the Graduation Ceremony of the Faculty of Psychology, Sanata Dharma University was held. The event, which was held in the Drost room on the 4th floor of campus 3 Paingan, was opened with a warm welcome and the delivery of the theme and rundown of the event by Robert and Kartika as the master of ceremony. The first speech was delivered by Mr Dr Y. B Cahya Widiyanto, M.Si. as the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Sanata Dharma University. He congratulated all prospective graduates on their graduation and the continuation of the process of forming a new identity as a graduate of the Faculty of Psychology, Sanata Dharma University. In accordance with the theme of the Vita Contemplativa event, although there will be many new goals and milestones to aim for, prospective graduates are reminded not to forget to pay attention to themselves who are often immersed in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In a world obsessed with productivity, contemplative living reminds us that insight, clarity and peace often come not from movement, but from stillness.

At this graduation farewell event, a total of 67 students have been officially recognized as prospective graduates. The event continued with the handover of mementos by each supervisor to each prospective graduate. Not to forget, the MC also invited sister Antonia Deva as the youngest graduate to receive a memento handed over by Mr Victorius Didik Suryo hartoko as Head of the Faculty of Psychology, Sanata Dharma University. Then, gratitude was also conveyed by Leonardo Agastya Kusuma as a representative of prospective graduates. In his expression of gratitude, brother Leonardo also invited all prospective graduates to become contemplative Bachelor of Psychology - "..become a scholar who not only applies techniques and theories, but also develops wisdom through contemplation. To be professionals who not only follow the flow of productivity, but also dare to stop, reflect, and think critically and deeply".
The final words of gratitude were delivered by Mr. Ir. Anton Chrisno Triwiyanto, representing the parents of the graduates. In his expression of gratitude, he also dedicated the song “Doa Seorang Anak” (“A Child’s Prayer”), which reflected his appreciation and prayers for all the prospective graduates. A commemorative painting was also presented to the parents' representative by Mrs. Maria Magdalena Nimas Eki Suprawati, M.Si., Ph.D., Psychologist.
As the event neared its conclusion, the MC invited selected attendees with the Best Costume to come up to the stage to receive door prizes and take group photos. In this session, Mr. Albertus Harimurti, S.Psi, M.Hum, as the Vice Head of the Study Program, presented the door prizes to the winners, consisting of 2 prospective graduates, 2 family members of the graduates, 2 committee members, and 2 educational staff. The session continued with the singing of the Sanata Dharma Hymn, joined by all attendees. At the end of the event, Father Ernest Justin S.J, S.Psi, M.Hum led the closing prayer as well as the mealtime blessing. Before the event officially ended, a photo session was held with the prospective graduates and faculty members, followed by a dinner with family in the Drost Lobby.
