This internship program ran from February 19 to June 19, 2024. Both students worked in the same position, Creative Content Writer, where we can write captions, develop creative writing strategies, and proofread and edit creative narratives to project management. In the Creative Content Writer team, we worked on several projects whose clients were based in Singapore. During her 4-month internship, Veronika worked on 2 projects, namely Briefs and Captions for learning materials for children aged 6-9 years.
Briefs itself is the first project where the writer had to find a photo of a child-friendly place located in Singapore. Based on the photos that have been searched for, the writer was asked to create 7 activities that are likely to occur in the photo. Until the end of June, Veronika was able to create 900 briefs in 4 months. While working on captions, the writer will create 7 captions in English based on images that have been created by the illustration team. In the caption, Veronika uses British English which Singaporeans use in their daily lives.

Clay also received various jobs from superiors. At the beginning of the internship period, Clay was responsible for over 600 briefs. Clay observed more than 1000 places and properties in Singapore online through articles and websites. Clay learned the culture, diversity and behaviour of Singaporeans. By doing so, Clay gradually learns the norms and traditions that exist there. In the middle of the internship period, Clay was responsible for working on around 500 captions. Besides learning the language, Clay also learned about the workload of Singaporeans. Sometimes, clients ask us to meet a deadline of 1000 captions in a batch and we get used to working under pressure.
In the middle of the internship period, Clay was assigned to proofread and revise her colleague's work. Clay corrected and refined her colleague's captions until she had a final product that was appropriate enough to be submitted to the client. Clay had many discussions with superiors and observed good grammar through the website. In the last few months of the internship, Clay was also responsible for handling feedback from Singaporean clients. She was responsible for responding to client feedback by writing the final product of our captions that she had finalized.

The writers on their work hour
For us, being a Creative Content Writer is a very new experience because in this company we are not only required to type or create stories, but we also have to be able to develop the story more creatively to suit the marketing target. In addition, we also get new relationships from other universities both from within and outside the city and country. This internship also taught us to be more disciplined when coming to the office and also responsible for our work, especially in prioritising our deadlines.
At the end of this internship, our company also held an offboarding to close our togetherness for 4 months as well as giving certificates and grades during our work. So joining this internship is a good opportunity for those of you who want to experience the world of work. MSIB is a cool program!
